Pollution Control Project

Carried out in the Campos, Santos and Parnaíba Basins, the Pollution Control Project aims to manage the waste and effluents from drilling rigs, support boats and the FPSO. Another function is to encourage the recycling of materials such as paper, plastic, metal and glass, reducing energy consumption and emission of gases. Disposal of sewage and oil residues at sea is carried out in accordance with current legislation and environmental requirements.

Workers’ Environmental Education Project

The employees involved in exploration and production activities in the Campos, Santos and Parnaíba Basins are trained in environmental issues to increase their knowledge and to allow them to adopt good practices for the conservation of the environment. Some of the issues covered are: Individual Emergency Plan (“PEI”), environmental impacts, waste management, energy conservation, environmental legislation and OGX’s environmental projects.

Community Communication Project (“PCS”)

This project is responsible for keeping the channel of communication open between OGX and the communities of the area of influence of our land and sea activities. Its aim is to inform society about the activities the company will develop.

In addition to complying with the legal requirements in a committed and responsible manner, for the PCS related to drilling activities in the Campos Basin a Preventive Communication Center (“CCP”) was created to provide a tool for direct communication between fishermen and the support vessels that operate in the area. An agreement was made with Atalaia Coastal Radio Control, Cabo Frio (RJ), which provides information for sea-going vessels in order to avoid conflicts, damage to fishing equipment and accidents.
